Joe was born and raised in the rolling hills of southern Indiana. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he spent time in Texas, Mississippi, and two years in West Germany with an intelligence squadron. It was there he first began writing. His stories first appeared in small press, and literary magazines in the early 90's. He was a senior staff writer for Fanstop.com, where he covered the Chicago Cubs, Mid-Major college basketball, and WAC football. 

He currently divides his time between his home in southern Indiana, Vienna, Austria, and Dnipro, Ukraine, where he writes books and short stories. His debut book is Play Ball! Growing Up With Baseball.
